MISTER NEUTRON: Updates

Choose sanity! - June 9, 2008

Bearded scientists from around the globe recently got together in Zurich to study our new CD, NOR'EASTER. This morning, they publicized their findings in a well-known science journal: "To the best of our knowledge, anyone who does not love Mister Neutron's new NOR'EASTER CD -- anyone who does not give it five stars and rave about it to friends, family and passers-by -- has serious, serious, profound, serious mental problems. Ergo, to choose Mister Neutron is to choose sanity." It's official, folks! Make the right choice! Side with sanity in '08!

Deep Eddy Records voted best label in Austin - November 2, 2007

Deep Eddy Records (Mister Neutron's label) was voted the best local record label in Austin, Texas, in an online poll conducted by the Austin American-Statesman in October. Here's some of the story, which was published on austin360.com: "For every Jay-Z or Richard Branson out there, living in houses made of gold and using Benjamins as Kleenex, there are hundreds of small, independent labels grinding away on their labor of love, in hopes of promoting local music and maybe making a buck or two. Of the many local record labels here in the Live Music Capital of the World, you have chosen Deep Eddy Records as the primary target of your admiration and affection. With 44 percent of the vote, Deep Eddy Records is the winner of the Your A-List poll for Best Local Record Label. Deep Eddy Records has been kicking around for 10 years, exploring the space where twangs meet — surf instrumentals, spaghetti western soundtracks and Texas Telecasters. its artists include 3 Balls of Fire, who reissued their 'Best of the Balls 1988-2000' last year, and the Nematoads (check out their western twang-scapes on 'Five Gun West')."

"Super Constellation" gets heavy rotation - October 1, 2007

According to BMI, our song "Super Constellation," which is on BIG WAVE RIDERS and RED TRIANGLE, was played 257 times on American college radio stations in the first quarter of 2007. We're using the royalties as a down payment on a sandwich. Seriously, this is a lot of airplay, and we thank Clint in San Diego and Brian in San Antonio -- plus everyone else who took our bribes -- I mean "helped us out." "Super Constellation" was recorded in 2005, and Damian wrote it. It's his current favorite Mister Neutron song.
